The only negative, they needed to wash the new towels before setting them out, as you got blue lint all over yourself every time you dried off.
The condo was fantastic. Very large space.
Most importantly, that lanai. We sat out there almost 24 hours a day just watching the ocean and the surfers on Banyon Break. So absolutely amazing.
2 bathrooms made the "getting ready" quicker. the location was closer to safeway/walmart/costco. Alii drive had nice mini-downtown kind of setting a couple of miles away.
The two things that I wished for were Air conditioning (it was very humid, even during nights), and some bathroom stuff (soap, shampoo etc.). Other than that, it's perfect.
The ONLY major complaint we had was in regards to the parking. This listing should have stated that there was no assigned parking for the unit, as we found out that the owner’s vehicle was parked in the only assigned slot for unit 404. For the most part, we were able to park in on of the “guest” parking spots. However, there were times that both “guest” parking spots were occupied, and we had to find street parking down the road. We were afraid of parking in the gravel area, as this was a tow away zone and did not want to risk having our rental car towed away. On days both "guest” spots were occupied, I would have to check throughout the day when a “guest” spot had cleared, so I could move my car from the street. This was a bit of a hassle...
If the owner wishes to leave his car in the assigned spot, perhaps the listing should make mention of this parking arrangement.
However, there were a few areas which require attention in our opinion: (1) Though the online pictures make the kitchen appear new, it is quite dated and congested. (2) Despite extensive efforts to keep the condo cool (closing blinds and curtains, constantly running 4 floor fans and all ceiling fans, opening windows/doors to allow cross ventilation), it consistently stayed hot throughout the space, even at night. (3) The dryer was unable to dry clothes in a timely fashion (~3 hrs/load) (4) We were told on 2 occasions that we shouldn't be parking in the guest space. We should have been using space 404 but the owner's car was parked there (we were asked to pass this info on to Knutson & Assoc. by a lady associated with the building upkeep). (5) We couldn't determine which outdoor equipment in the storage locker belongs to unit 404, so we didn't use anything. (6) The floor fans were extremely dirty.
Generally, we enjoyed our stay in unit 404; however, a few much-needed updates to the kitchen, living room blinds, and installation of A/C would have improved our experience.
I didn't really have need to contact the owner/manager so I suppose that says it all!
We had a great time relaxing on the porch, enjoying the view, and being entertained by the surfers.
Looking forward to our next visit!
